Andrea Datzman

Andrea Datzman is most well known for her emotional hybrid orchestral/punk-pop score for Disney Pixar’s Inside Out 2, Paramount’s Star Trek: Short Treks, her recent song contributions to the soundtrack of Fantastic Four: First Steps, and her work on Pixar’s theatrical short Carl’s Date and the TV series Alcatraz.

As composer, songwriter, vocalist and arranger, over the years Datzman’s contributions have woven through major features (Zooptopia; Spiderman: Homecoming; Let Me In; Cars 2; Speed Racer) several TV series (Dug Days; Lost; Alcatraz; UnderCovers) as well as video games (Up; Ratatouille). She even penned the catchy “Tripledent Gum” jingle from Inside Out (2015).

Originally from Northern California, Andrea grew up as a general nerd, band, and drama geek and all that entailed. Masking as a multi-instrumentalist (but really trying to avoid gym class) she studied orchestra, choral, musical theater, classical piano, pop and jazz. Continuing the ruse at UC Santa Barbara with a focus on avant garde/ new classical composition, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Composition, then attended USC where she completed their Scoring Masters Program in the Thornton School of Music.

Outside the music studio, she can be found building things, stockpiling trivia no one asked for, still finding creative ways to avoid gym class, and collecting any fun vintage paraphernalia or rocks with undeniable mystical vibes.
