With a career spanning more than two decades, Grammy, Olivier, and two-time Tony Award nominee Ethan Popp has helmed music departments around the globe for some of the largest cultural phenomena of the last twenty years.
As the Music Production Supervisor for 20th Century Studios’ 2017 smash hit The Greatest Showman, he assembled and directed the music team that brought Michael Gracey’s epic storytelling vision to the silver screen for Justin Paul & Benj Pasek’s legendary score. The film’s soundtrack broke numerous records around the world and was awarded a 2018 Grammy Award for Best Soundtrack for Visual Media.
As a vocal coach, his work can be heard on 20th Century Studios’ Bohemian Rhapsody, for which he served as Academy Award winner Rami Malek’s vocal coach as Rami took on the role of glam rock legend Freddie Mercury.
On television, Ethan’s work has been seen on Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO), Smash and The Today Show (NBC), Late Night with Conan O’Brien (ABC), Good Morning America (CBS), The Tony Awards, and many other outlets.
In theater, his career as a music producer, music supervisor, arranger and orchestrator have seen him collaborate on such worldwide hits as Back to the Future: The Musical, Mrs. Doubtfire, Tina: The Tina Turner Musical, School of Rock, Motown the Musical, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Rock of Ages and many more.
