Grant Kirkhope

Grant is a BAFTA nominated British composer who has created the soundtrack for video games that have sold in excess of 25 million copies. From “GoldenEye” to “Banjo-Kazooie”, “Viva Piñata” to “Donkey Kong” and “Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning” to “Civilization: Beyond Earth”. Grant is equally at home with live orchestra as well as electronic scores, having written music for both mediums throughout his 20 year career.

Grant was nominated in the 2014 ASCAP Composer’s Choice Awards for his work on “Civilization: Beyond Earth” and also won the Best Original Score for a Video Game or Interactive Media 2014 from the International Film Music Critics Association for the same score. “Civilization: Beyond Earth” also won Best Score: Video Game at the Cue Awards 2014. Grant is the only video game composer to have 3 entries in the Classic FM Hall of Fame, the UK’s largest classical music station.

Grant has a degree in music from the Royal Northern College of Music, where majored in classical trumpet. Grant is a green card holder and now lives in Agoura Hills, LA with his wife and two children.
