Peter Gregson (b.1987) is a British composer and cellist ‘working at the forefront of the new music scene’ (The New Yorker), and is an exclusive Deutsche Grammophon recording artist.
He has released four studio albums: Terminal (2009), Lights in the Sky (2014), Touch (2015) and Bach Recomposed (2018). In between, he has undertaken commissions for stage and screen: films (including Alan Rickman’s A Little Chaos, Roger Michell’s Blackbird) ballets (for companies including Ballet BC, Joffrey Ballet, Dutch National Ballet) and toured extensively around the world, from a rooftop club in Hong Kong to The Royal Albert Hall, London; the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg to Big Ears Festival, Knoxville TN.
Gregson’s music recently underscored Paolo Sorrentino’s cult HBO/Sky series The New Pope, and is regularly used in campaigns including
Balenciaga, Ralph Lauren, and Pat McGrath. He has recently completed a new ballet for Theatrehaus Stuttgart / Gauthier Dance with choreographer Cayetano Soto. He is currently writing his fifth studio album for release in 2021.
