Known for her unique combinations of a wide range of instruments with analog modular synth programming, up-and-coming composer Sarah Schachner has developed a reputation as a bold new force in film and video game scoring. She garnered stellar reviews for her recent Baroque classical-action score for Assassin’s Creed: Unity (Vol. 2), on which she continued her relationship with Ubisoft, having previously provided additional music on Far Cry 3 and Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag.
In addition to her video game work, Schachner has written music for films, trailers, commercials, and TV shows on networks including FOX NBC, ABC, CBS, Discovery, History, Nickelodeon, MTV, and SyFy, among many others. She has a long-standing relationship with composer Brian Tyler, her mentor since the beginnings of her career with whom she did additional music and arranging on films such as Iron Man 3, Expendables 2, Now You See Me, and the indie thriller John Dies At The End, as well as a host of video games including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Far Cry 3, Need For Speed: The Run, and Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel. She made her solo debut into film composition with 2015’s The Lazarus Effect, starring Olivia Wilde, Mark Duplass, and Donald Glover.
Schachner plays an assortment of instruments including the violin, viola, cello, piano, guitar, octave mandolin, bowed dulcimer, and has a growing collection of analog synths.
